AVOID THE OFFICE:

We are making Desk Time at the office optional so the office may not be open if your clients stop by. Check the desk time schedule and call to see if they are at office or home if you are expecting someone/something (available on intranet/resource center/documents/desk time)

This step is being taken as the spread of coronavirus19 intensifies in our area. We are now hearing of positive coronavirus testing just 2 or 3 removed from those we know.

If you DO NOT NEED TO COME TO THE OFFICE, PLEASE STAY HOME. I know our office is spacious enough that we can easily keep our 6-8’ distance, but I worry about “touched” surfaces. It is just not possible to be 100% sure everyone cleans and disinfects properly etc.

It is best that you ‘BEHAVE AS IF YOU COULD HAVE IT, IF NOT FOR YOURSELF, THEN FOR YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, COLLEAGUES AND THE VULNERABLE”.

We have provided alternate ways for you to send your paperwork (via email) to us. If you need assistance in doing this, please let us know (Marie, Tish, Anthony). Remember, every Listing and Transaction has its own specific email address assigned to it from Brokermint (our paperless transaction platform). You can simply forward any paperwork to that email address. The Brokermint “record” must be started by Dory which is why it is important to first email the contract and cover sheet or listing and cover sheet to her so she can start the Brokermint “record”. Once the record is created, we can give you the specific email address for that record. It’s really easy, I promise.

If you do come to the office, please follow all previously provided precautions to keep our environment safe here.
My recommendations:
Keep disinfectant wipes in your car, or disposable gloves so that when you enter your keypad code and open the door, you either have just disinfected your hands or put a “clean” glove on to enter your code and enter the door.
Once inside the office, there are hand sanitizers and paper towels on the bottom step. Take a wipe and clean your hands. Then take a tear sheet of paper towel and use it as a barrier between your hand and the handrail on the way up the stairs.

DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING WITHOUT FIRST CLEANING IT. We have provided wipes and sanitizers throughout the building.
No matter what your hand is about to touch, CLEAN IT FIRST. Then clean it again after you have touched it (mail bin slot, copier buttons, copier, keypads, door knobs, handles, keyboards, pens, mouse, screen, countertops, desk tops, light switches, knife handles, refrigerator door pull, coffee pot handle). CLEAN BEFORE AND AFTER. Before for you, after for the next person.

DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE!

We have all office “surfaces” thoroughly cleaned and wiped down daily (early am), but any infected person can contaminate ANY surface in between our cleanings. Are you understanding why you should STAY HOME? I know this seems surreal, but it is real. Really.

I am coming to the office daily and Dory is coming in on Mon-Wed-Thurs also. If you need something done here, let me know. I’m happy to help if I can.
If you do come in - PLEASE KEEP THE “UN”SOCIAL DISTANCE OF 6-8’. Remember, behave as IF YOU HAVE THE VIRUS. There is now some concern that tiny virus particles can “linger” in the air for quite some time after an infected person was present.

I know we will get through this, but I really would like it if no one we know and care for gets this dreaded virus. The best way to do this, is just stay home, until you must go out.

Many of us are still out showing homes. This is okay as long as you take all precautions to prevent being exposed to any nasty virus particles that are left on surfaces. Please be safe. Use your best judgement at all times.

Oh, and if you have any symptoms, DEFINITELY STAY HOME. Fever, cough, respiratory.... And keep us informed if you or anyone in your family is concerned they may have been exposed to someone with a positive coronavirus test.

Now that you have joined me in my worry and concern, I also want to say that if you do happen to get this Coronavirus19, the majority of the inflicted do just fine. Around 80-97% do not have serious complications or die. So odds are, if you do get it, you will be just fine after a few weeks. BUT, remember the vulnerable (immune compromised, chronic diseases, lung issues, cancer, diabetes etc) and the elderly (are they really saying over 60?) are most likely to have serious complications, so please keep US safe. There are quite a few of us here.
Make sure you prepare your home for the possibility that you or someone in your household will be sick. Next update I will suggest what you should have on hand at home.

Much love,
Marie.
